Aden House Care Home with Nursing Care

Aden House is a purpose built care home situated in a peaceful rural area near the village of Clayton West. Open countryside can be seen from many of its 60 bedrooms.

The home is situated near to the Wakefield and Barnsley border, and the M1 motorway and within easy access of all local amenities.

Aden house has large en-suite rooms and is registered for client groups with various needs ranging from residential to nursing care, and has its own 20 bed residential dementia care (EMI) unit, all clients are aged 65 years or above.

It also has registration for young physical disabled clients aged between 50 to 64 years. Two beds are available for respite clients /short breaks etc.

The home is built on two floors and has an eight person passenger lift, providing easy access to both floors. Specialist equipment such as hydraulic baths, hoists & walk in showers are fitted throughout the home to promote independence for clients.

There are a number of tastefully decorated communal lounges all with easy chairs & colour TV, including one for clients whom wish to smoke. Two spacious dining rooms are situated on the ground floor and our cooks provide a varied menu using fresh produce (special diets catered for).

For clients with dementia there is a designated lounge and dining area and the facility of a secure garden and locked door policy.

There is also a hair salon on the first floor and the hairdresser visits weekly. Entertainment and activities form part of the daily running of the home.

The designate manager Mrs Alyson Shaw has a number of years experience within the nursing /care profession & possesses the appropriate occupational qualifications.

All nursing and care staff are trained to the highest standards and also receive training which meets Health and safety requirements and those of The Commission for Social Care Inspection.

Visiting is welcomed at any reasonable time and prospective clients are encouraged to come and stay with us for a day to get the “feel “ of the home.
